Air Crash Landing

When people imagine air emergencies, probably one of the most common things they envision is an air crash landing. While these do seem to often be in the news, they are not when most aviation fatalities occur. An air crash landing is when a pilot is forced to land the plane in unfamiliar territory due to any reason. Although they are called "crash landings", not all of them involve actual crashes. Many times the pilot is able to maneuver the plane safely to the ground. In the event of an actual air crash landing, of course, the results can be devastating. Although it is not the part of the flight which has the most fatalities overall, there have been many who had died in an air crash landing, particularly one that happens in the mountains. There are those times, however, when a pilot's skill can avert disaster and guide the plane down safely without any fatalities.
