Airbus Crash Landing

Airbus crash landings have been making headlines in the past few years. In June of 2009, an airbus landed in the water off the Comoros Islands which is near Mozambique. 153 people had been on board that airbus and only a few survived. Earlier in June there had been another airbus incident in which over 200 people plunged into the water. The death count between the two was high and many wondered if the A330 and an A310 were too old and not mechanically safe to be of use anymore. There were several conflicting reports about what had happened before the airbus crash landing. Eye witnesses reported several different things and the pilot reported gusty winds. The airbus crash landing drives home the focus once again of the safety of air travel. Although many ditches and crash landings have ended well recently, there has still been far too much loss of life.
