The most common type of airplane disaster is an aircraft crash landing. Most crashes occur upon landing. 2009 has been the deadliest in aircraft crash landing since 2002. With the year only half gone, there have already been 500 fatalities from aircraft accidents. There seems little doubt that more pilot training is needed regardless of the economy. Although one accident which resulted in the pilot ditching the plane in the Hudson River showed just what a good pilot can do. With that accident, there were no fatalities and only minor injuries. Aircraft crash landing occurrences have been far too many in recent months. It leaves room for speculation on why all of the errors now. If there is an increase, a drastic increase of aircraft crash landing then there must be a reason for it. Younger, less experienced pilots? Poor pilot training? It is anyone's guess but there must be some reason why there has been a rapid increase in aircraft crash landing.
