Airport Noise Complaint

Airport noise complaints fall under the jurisdiction of the Federal Aviation Administration. Complains about the noise in and around airports often comes from neighbors in the area but it can come from other sources as well. There are guidelines which must be followed when it comes to the noise emitted by aircraft and that information is available at the FAA website. There are regional offices available to handle complaints as well. The fact is, however, it is going to be noisy near an airport but if you live near one, you also know that there are some aircraft that are much louder than usual. For these, there is recourse. File a complaint with the regional or national FAA. Provide as much information as necessary including the time, date and even direction of the noisy aircraft. Any information provided can be helpful. Follow up if you have not heard anything back after a week or two.
