Airport Security Screening

Only a few years ago, going through airport security screening was truly a hassle. An object as small as a pair of fingernail clippers or as innocent as a bottle of perfume was scrutinized and confiscated by security personnel. Travelers are fortunate in that the screening process has relaxed somewhat. Airport security screening is now a more reasonable procedure where people can move through the lines more quickly. You can speed things up even more by preparing your belongings before going through security. Some items should go into a bag that you check, while some items are perfectly fine to include in a carry-on bag. For example, you can include a pair of blunt or curved tipped metal scissors in your carry-on bag, but metal scissors with sharp tips would have to be placed in your checked bag to comply with TSA regulations. Airport security screening does not permit an item as innocuous as a lighter to be included in a checked or a carry-on bag. Dress appropriately for the screening to save time. Do not wear excessive jewelry or clothing with metal trim. Wear shoes that can be easily removed, and remove loose change, keys, and cell phones from your pockets. Airport security screening takes but a few minutes to accomplish, and the process will help to insure your safety.
