Airport X Ray Screening

Airport x ray screening brings up a lot of questions from those who must pass through the scanners at airports. People feel as if these scanners are intrusive and unnecessary unless a person looks and acts suspicious. A new type of airport x ray screening is making its debut in certain parts of the United States. It is feared that because of privacy concerns, travelers will not want to subject themselves to this type of airport x ray screening. This new type of x ray technology scans the entire body, supposedly to look for weapons that maybe be hidden. Proponents of the machine call the device an anti-terrorism tool. This type of x ray is called backscatter, and it has raised eyebrows in other countries when used, because it captures rather graphic images of certain parts of the body that are usually kept covered at all times for modesty's sake. The Transportation Security Administration of the United States claims that they have come up with a method, which will blur out the private parts images. Once this is done, they claim it will still be a very useful method of detecting weapons hidden on someone's person. Airport x ray screening was never meant to be intrusive enough to capture images of people's most private parts. It is a tossup as to whether or not this type of airport x ray screening will last for very long in the United States.
