Helicopter Crash Landing

A helicopter crash landing is divided into three different groups. The first is an uncontrolled crash and usually is when the helicopter hits the ground at a high rate of speed. In this scenario, there usually are no survivors. The second group is the hard landing, where the pilot does have control of the helicopter and it just hits the ground with a bit of an impact. Everyone normally survives these types of crashes. The third type is the survivable crash. There may be damage to the helicopter and even some injury to pilot or passenger but the crash is deemed survivable. Although there can be many different scenarios to a helicopter crash landing, all of them are placed into one of the above three categories. Much of the determination has to do with the elevation of the helicopter when it began the crash descent. Also, there can be and have been exceptions to each of the categories. There have been people who have survived and uncontrollable crash, for instance.
