Hudson Plane Crash Lawsuit

Some people are wondering if there will be multiple lawsuits eventually filed as a result of the plane crash in the Hudson River which occurred on January 15, 2009. The US Airways Flight 1549 landed in the Hudson River while carrying 150 passengers. The word "landed" is used because the Pilot Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger III and his crew, through careful manipulation of the plane's altitude and angle, were able to prevent the distressed Airbus A320 from breaking up as it glided into the water. It was called a miracle landing because no one died. The cause of the crash has been attributed so far to birds getting sucked into the jet engines. Both plan engines failed suddenly as the plane was trying to take off. The reason there is still a possibility of lawsuits being filed is because there are many unanswered questions. For example, did any mechanical components fail? The fact birds could reach the jet engines indicates there was nothing in place to protect the engines. The whole story is yet to unfold as numerous groups investigate the crash including the FAA, Airbus and the National Transportation Safety Board.
