Piloted by a man who was able to remain calm in a crisis, the Hudson River plane crash landing resulted in no fatalities and only minor injuries. Shortly after takeoff, the plane hit a flock of geese and apparently both engines went. Passengers remember hearing a "boom" and then seeing fire at the engines. The pilot managed to put the plane down safely in the Hudson River. Responding to the ditching, ferries from both New York and New Jersey responded to help the passengers. The Hudson River Plane Crash landing could have turned out a completely different way but as it stands, the actions of a clear thinking pilot averted a tragedy. The pilot also credits the crew members who stayed calm and assisted the passengers out of the plane.
