DC 3 Cargo Plane Crashes Near Federal Highway and Commercial Blvd


Just after 3:30 pm Monday a DC 3 Cargo plane took off from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport near I-95 and commercial blvd. Seconds after takoff, many eye witnesses in a nearby glass office building on I 95 and Cypress Creek Rd. observed the low flying plane passing their 10th floor building in distress.

Short seconds later the DC 3 cargo plane took a dive just 3 miles from its takoff. The plane crashed in residential neighborhood in a highly populated coridor of north east broward.  Black smoke billowed high in to the air near the hospital residential area for 15- 20 minutes after the crash.

It is not yet known,  the amount of damage or injuries. Firecrews were are on the scene and the fire is under control.

It is preliminary, but unconfirmed that the pilot may be alive and also some passengers also. The damage to surrounding homes and residents can be high.
